Luis Resto "Cornered" Press Conference

Luis Resto holds a pair of replica handwraps at a press conference at Demsey’s in New York City. It was later discovered that Resto’s handwraps were pre-cast with tape soaked in plaster of Paris prior to his fight against Billy Collins Jr.

Attorney for Collins’ widow, Marc R. Thompson hopes to reopen the case of the Resto-Collins scandal against the State of New York.

Eric Drath produced a documentary, entitled Cornered, investigating the Resto-Collins fight and its aftermath.

A demonstration depicted how two ounces of horsehair were removed from Resto’s gloves.

Boxing Digest’s Jerry Glick [r.] interviewed former Chairman of the New York State Athletic Commission, Randy Gordon, who continually rejected Resto’s plea to be re-licensed after he’d been banned from boxing for life.

For the first time, Resto publicly admitted to knowing that his gloves were tampered with before facing Collins.
